On Wednesdays I am invisible

Footsteps quick yet quieter than grass growing

Past singles in cars parked in the middle of the road

Past bus wait-ers, school go-ers, dog walk-ers

They turn slightly, drawn like static cling

I am gone!

I am out!

No one sees me

I am felt only as a sudden warmth

Seen as a reflection gliding over shop windows

A shadow slipping off fences off faces off sides

On Wednesdays I choose invisibility

On Wednesdays I am powerful

On National Poetry day 2014 I thought I’d write some poems based on prompts from tweeps. This prompt “Invisible.”
