We’re having a day looking around Wellington. First stop Old Bank Arcade to look at the clock. It tells the history of the building in four scenes. Originally this part of Wellington was under water. The 1855 earthquake lifted the land. (Wellington man. Sometimes I just can’t get my head around how the land has changed. ) This iteration of the building was opened in 1999. It houses shops now – still involved in the business of money. Thanks to the person who had the clock made and installed. Its little clockwork story is a nice way to spend five minutes.
Old Bank Clock shows every hour on the hour. Best viewing is upstairs near the complex office.
