Science is cool

Venus crosses in front of the sun today. It’s a bit cloudy where I am (howling gales, lightning strikes etc) but work is playing the NASA coverage in the Plaza for all to see. I’m also enjoying The Guardian’s live coverage.

In NZ there’s a forum in Gisborne and Tolaga Bay where “scientists, iwi representatives, dignitaries and delegates will gather to further Professor Sir Paul Callaghan’s vision of making New Zealand “a place where talent wants to live”.” Hashtag #TOVforum if you’re interested.

I made a Youtube playlist with suggestions from tweeps. It’s just over a hour long which means you’ll have to have it on repeat if you want it to last for the the whole transit.
