Insight: NZSD studio performance of classical and contemporary works

The New Zealand School of Dance has a 'studio showing' at then end of each school term. It's a series of classical and contemporary dance pieces (or excerpts from dance pieces), presented in one of the studios. There are no extra lights. Sometimes the students wear costumes. Other times they wear the same gear as they do in class. Entry is by koha. The performance usually lasts for an hour.
The Insight studio performance was a nice mix of classical and contemporary, and solo and ensemble works. There were excerpts from Swan Lake, Emeralds, and The Nutcracker. The contemporary students showed excerpts from works by Michael Parmenter, Ross McCormack, Victoria Colombus, and works they'd choreographed themselves. The showing ended on a high note with two excerpts from Company B. This piece will provide the finale to the NZSD graduation season. Get your tickets now.
